Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Jalpaiguri, celebrated the 80th Independence Day of India with patriotic fervour and due solemnity. The programme was attended by around 170 participants, including monastics, students of the Students’ Home, Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa and Vivekananda Abhyudaya Prakalpa, volunteers, devotees, and staff of the Ashrama.
The celebration commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag, followed by the singing of the National Anthem and National Song. A number of patriotic songs were presented, creating an atmosphere of national pride and devotion. The speeches on the significance of Independence Day, patriotism, and the responsibilities of citizens were also delivered.
The programme concluded with the distribution of tea and snacks to all participants.
