Every year National Youth Day is Celebrated by us on 12th January. This day being the Birth Day of the Youth Icon Swami Vivekananda, it is Celebrated by various organisations. Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Jalpaiguri is not an exception, so we used to arrange a huge and grand procession in the morning hours of the day. The procession consists of boys and girls of various schools including teachers holding banners of individual schools and students holding placards bearing the inspiring quotations of Sri Ramakrishna, Sri Ma Sarada Devi and Swami Vivekananda. The major attraction of this procession is the two tableaus one Shashwata Bharata and another is Viveka-Vahini. Apart from these two tableaus, other tableaus are being arranged by various school children in their individual artistic fashion bearing the life and teachings of Holy-Trio. The procession originating from Ashrama passing through main streets of the town comes back to the Ashrama premises. Then a short cultural programme is arranged where lectures are being delivered by our monks and other dignitaries present. Musical performances are conducted by BSF and Police Band etc. At the end of the programme All the participants are given books and literature of Swami Vivekananda and everybody is served with a square tiffin packet.
