Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Jalpaiguri, in association with Kasiabari Sri Ramakrishna Ashrama and in collaboration with Siliguri Greater Lions Eye Hospital, successfully organized a Free Eye Check-up & Cataract Surgery Camp at Kasiabari Hat, Jalpaiguri, on 26th July 2026.
A total of 102 patients were examined, comprising 64 female and 38 male patients. Following clinical examination, 22 patients underwent cataract surgery. Additionally, 16 patients received free spectacles, and 25 patients received free eye drops and medicines. Cooked prasad was served to all at the end.
The camp was conducted successfully with dedicated support from the medical team of Siliguri Greater Lions Eye Hospital, as well as the monastics, volunteers and staff from Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama Jalpaiguri and Kasiabari Sri Ramakrishna Ashrama. The programme helped in the early detection and treatment of eye diseases while promoting awareness about eye health among the local community.
