The 77th Republic Day was solemnly and joyfully celebrated at Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Jalpaiguri, on Monday, 26th January 2026, in a spirit of patriotism, discipline, and national pride.
The programme commenced with the garlanding of Swami Vivekananda's statue by Swami Shivapremananda, followed by the unfurling of the National Flag. All assembled participants stood together and sang the National Anthem, creating a deeply inspiring and patriotic atmosphere.
The celebration was further enriched by patriotic songs presented by students of our Students’ Hostel, Vivekananda Abhyudaya Prakalpa, and Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa, reflecting the enthusiasm and national consciousness among the youths.
On this occasion, Swami Jitamohananda delivered an address, highlighting the significance of the Indian Constitution, the responsibilities of citizens, and the need for character-building, discipline, and selfless service in the spirit of Swami Vivekananda’s ideals.
A good number of devotees, students, staff members, monastics, and volunteers participated in the celebration, making it a memorable and meaningful event. The programme concluded with the distribution of sweets to all participants, fostering a sense of unity and joy.
The Republic Day celebration successfully reaffirmed the Ashrama’s commitment to nurturing patriotism, moral values, and responsible citizenship among the younger generation and the society at large.
