03 May 2017

A special campaign on value education ( workshop on 3Cs- concentration, confidence and character) was initiated by Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Jalpaiguri in collaboration with Ramakrishna Math, Yogodyan starting from 4th  to 8th April, 2017, in Jalpaiguri Sadar Sub-division and Mekhliganj Sub-division of Coochbehar district.

A total of 24 educational institutions ( 3 Colleges, 17 High Schools and 4 Primary Schools)  were covered.

Around  800 students / youth and teachers of the aforesaid schools and colleges were involved in the value education programme. Besides, around 34000 students, youth and general public assembled in school/ college premises and on route to pay  tributes to Swami Vivekananda.

The object of the programme was to make the students/youth pursue higher ideals in life through building up their character, developing confidence and concentration.

Apart from the workshop attendees, there was overwhelming association of students, teachers and general public in the unique campaign.

One of the major attraction of this unique campaign was projecting the ideals of Swami Vivekananda through  “SHASHWATA BHARATA RATHA”  and “ VIVEKA VAHINI “ tableaus, which had already travelled all the districts of West Bengal , covering 1400  educational institutions in the state.

The tableaus  attracted the students and youth of the region. It seemed to all as if Swamiji was giving a clarion call to all youth “ ARISE AWAKE AND STOP NOT TILL THE GOAL IS REACHED”.

During its journey through routes covering different educational institutions, in rural and town areas, the “ SHASHWATA BHARATA RATHA” and “ VIVEKA VAHINI” tableaus were  received with  warm welcome by the local populace, who gathered in huge numbers beside the road route traversed by the tableaus. In every school and college on the route, students and teachers assembled beside the road waving tri colour, playing Sankha, band and showering flower petals, paying their tributes to Swamiji.

Monastic members of Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Jalpaiguri and Ramakrishna Math, Yogodyan delivered inspiring speeches addressing the students/youth and teachers attending the workshop on 3 Cs (concentration, confidence and character). The interactive workshops created tremendous enthusiasm among the students/youth and teachers who got an opportunity to learn the basic values in life and reframe their outlook. The teachers of schools termed the interactive value learning course as unprecedented and gave a overwhelming response to the move.
